Extra Help with the Twisty Rolly Fun

I posted this free pattern for the Twisty Rolly Headband HERE and on Ravelry.

Here are a few follow up tips to make it look really awesome.

First...

The gauge is about 7 stitches and 10 rows of knit = 2 inches.

Second...

A little step by step on how to get that beginning twist just right.

Here is a photo of what it normally looks like when you are finished casting on and you are getting ready to start knitting in the round. This is how you would do it if you were starting a hat or something along those lines. You go around the needle, making sure the bulky part of the cast on stitches are all along the bottom so there are no twists.

Here is a photo of what it should look like when you have made the twist for the Twisty Rolly Headband. After you cast on, but before you join to start working in the round, take the stitches in the left hand needle and twist them around so the bulky part of the cast on stitches can be seen wrapping around the needle.

Here is a photo of what the project should look like after working several rows with the twist in the round. There is a part of the work that twists around your circular needles. This is good! Normally I hate seeing this in a knitting project, but it's just what you want for this headband.

And this is a photo of what it should look like after you have finished all the rows and bound off. It's definitely ready to be worn with a cute outfit! Congrats on finishing a cute project!

If you have any additional questions on this project please send me an email at SansLimitesCrochet@gmail.com! I'll try to answer them as soon as I can!

Happy Stitching!

What type of yarn did you use? I really like the look and want to get it exact!

Hi! Thanks so much for reading my blog!

For the yellow headband, I used Patons Classic wool in yellow.

The purple headband I made out of some extra yarn I've had in my stash forever, so I can't be sure. I know I bought it at Michael's and if I had to guess I would say it is a Lion Brand Vanna's choice yarn in Wild Berry.

I'm having a problem getting the twist! I have restarted this project twice because I just can't see the twist in it... Is there some extra special trick that I'm not seeing, other than just twisting the stitches around the needle before the join?

Is it possible that I'm knitting the twist OUT after I join and have knitted a few rows?

Right now I'm on row 8 and I still don't see a twist, it just looks like I'm knitting a hat. :(

BTW: Even though I'm having troubles, I think this headband is super cute and I love all of your stuff!!
