Dressed Up Sweatshirt DIY

Here's a fun way to dress up a crew neck sweater or sweatshirt with a kangaroo pocket!

You will need:
-A crew neck sweater or sweatshirt easily found at a craft or used clothes store.
-Some worsted weight yarn in a fun... or matching?... color.
-I hook.
-Needle and thread in a matching color.
-Pins.

Make the Kangaroo pocket by doing the following...

Ch 4. Join in a loop with a sl st.
Row 1: Ch 1. 4 sc into the ch-4 loop. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1. 2 sc into each sc of previous row. 8 sc total. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 1. *1 sc in first st of previous row. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 12 sc total. Turn.
Row 4: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of the next 2 sc. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 16 sc total. Turn.
Row 5: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of the next 3 sc. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 20 sc total. Turn.
Row 6: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of the next 4 sc. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 24 sc total. Turn.
Row 7: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of the next 5 sc. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 28 sc total. Turn.
Row 8: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of the next 6 sc. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 32 sc total. Turn.
Row 9: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of the next 7 sc. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 36 sc total. Turn.
Row 10: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of the next 8 sc. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 40 sc total. Turn.
Row 11: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of the next 9 sc. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 44 sc total. Turn.
Row 12: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of the next 10 sc. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 48 sc total. Turn.
Row 13: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of the next 11 sc. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 52 sc total. Turn.
Row 14: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of the next 12 sc. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 56 sc total. Turn.
Row 15: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of the next 13 sc. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 60 sc total. Turn.
Row 16: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of the next 14 sc. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 64 sc total. Turn.
Row 17: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of the next 15 sc. 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * across. 68 sc total. Turn.
Cut and bind off and weave in ends.

Pin onto the sweatshirt and make sure it is centered. Take your needle and thread and sew that pocket on!
