You will need:
-Crochet thread - the thick kind (size 3) in 2 different colors.
-A small crochet hook (like a size 2).
In Color A (black), ch a multiple of 8 that will fit around your shoe and fit over your foot. I'm chaining 80. Join with a sl st taking care not to twist your stitches.
Row 1: In Color A, ch1. In Color A, 1 sc in each ch around. Join with sl st.
Join Color B.
Row 2: In Color A, ch 1. *In Color A, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc. In Color B, 1 sc. In Color A, 1 sc in each of the next 4 dc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st.
Row 3: In Color A, ch 1. *In Color A, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc. In Color B, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc. In Color A, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st.
Row 4: In Color A, ch 1. *In Color A, 1 sc in the first sc. In Color B, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sc. In Color A, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st.
Row 5: In Color B, ch 1. *In Color B, 1 sc in each of the next 7 sc. In Color A, 1 sc. Repeat from * around and join with a sl st.
Row 6: In Color B, ch 1. *In Color B, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc. In Color A, 1 sc. In Color B, 1 sc in each of the next 4 dc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st.
Row 7: In Color B, ch 1. *In Color B, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc. In Color A, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc. In Color B, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st.
Row 8: In Color B, ch 1. *In Color B, 1 sc in the first sc. In Color A, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sc. In Color B, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st.
Row 9: In Color A, ch 1. *In Color A, 1 sc in each of the next 7 sc. In Color B, 1 sc. Repeat from * around and join with a sl st.
Row 10: In Color A, ch 1. 1 sc in each st of previous row.
Cut, bind off, weave in all loose ends.
