First of the many holiday DIY's I'm trying to share with you all!
Do you ever see those boots with fringe on them and think... "Those are awesome!" but then realize they are probably a fad that won't be cool tomorrow, and might as well buy yourself classic boots instead?
Now you can make these and fringe up your boots on the rare occasions you feel fringe to be totally appropriate... which for me may be always after all the fun I had making these.
You will need:
-thick crochet thread in two colors (the size 3 kind, not the size 10 kind)
-a small crochet hook, like a C.
-measuring tape.
-scissors
Color Changing will be a really good thing to know how to do... check out that link!
This boot cuff is very similar to the last, there is just a little more to it. Check out the old boot cuff HERE.
To make this one... make two of these
In Color A (black), ch a multiple of 8 that will fit around your shoe
and fit over your foot. I'm chaining 72 (smaller than last time so there is room for fringe to hang). Join with a sl st taking care
not to twist your stitches.
Row 1: In Color A, ch1. In Color A, 1 sc in each ch around. Join with sl st.
Join Color B.

Repeat Rows 2-8 so there are three chevron stripes in Color B.
Final Row: In Color A, ch 1. 1 sc in each st of previous row. Join with sl st.
Cut, bind off, weave in all loose ends.
Now hold the piece flat, and make one row of single crochet down the edge of the piece so you are stitching in an opposite direction from the way you had been working (now vertically instead of previously horizontally). Insert the hook around single crochet stitches to do this. Cut and bind off.
Use your tape measure to cut 6 inch pieces of Color A (black). This will be your fringe (3 inches when folded). Fold 2 pieces of fringe in half, thread them through your vertical sc row, and loop through to secure. Do this all the way down each side leaving one inch at the bottom bare of fringe (so you won't be stepping on it all the time).
Now slip it over your favorite pair of boots and look awesome! The end!
