Please Vote!

Good morning stitching and fashion enthusiasts!

Today is one really really big day.  It is a day that we can make our opinions heard, no matter how small we feel our voices may be.  It is a day we take part in making the decision as to who will lead this great great country of ours.

Today is one day I do not support the decision to stay home and stitch.  Most of us crafters are women, and women fought for so long to have this right.  Don't take it for granted.  Get out and vote.

The lines maybe long, and it might be cold outside... but I'm sure we have many knit goods and projects to keep us both entertained and warm.  Bring a friend...turn it into a stitch n b*tch.

Have an opinion.  Share it.  VOTE!!!  Thanks in advance!

Display Head DIY

You can buy those foam heads at Hobby Lobby for fairly cheap... they're nice to have at a craft fair, but pretty darn ugly.  If you read this blog, you know I'm not always so skilled in Mod Podge - ing...  Knit and Crochet is about where my craft skills end.  BUT... had to have a go at making these heads look a little more attractive.  If I can do it, you can too.

All you need is...
-Foam heads ($5-$10 at Hobby Lobby)
-A vintage looking book from a thrift store.
-A container of Mod Podge - I like the Matte (NON-glossy) kind for that vintage look
-An old junky paint brush you don't mind getting Mod Podge all over
-I also like laying out some plastic bags so glue driblets don't get all over the place

1. Rip the Pages out of the book and into various smaller pieces.
2. Paint the back side of the piece you're using, stick to to the head.
3. Paint over the piece especially around the edges, sealing it to the head.
4. Repeat until the head is covered, using smaller pieces around eyes, nose, mouth.
5. Let it dry over night.
6. Boom... pretty display heads.  YAY!

Then try and get all that mucky podge off your fingers before you go back to your pretty yarn.

75 and Sunny

Hi All!

I'm so so very sorry I haven't posted in so so very long!  In the last few weeks, I decided a bit last minute to do an outdoor market this weekend- The French Nest, applied and was accepted to Renegade in San Fran (more on all that later), applied for grad school (EEK!), had a garage sale at my house, enjoyed an awesome visit from Rachel from Washington (one of my very best friends), and made a whole stash of large and small Weekender Bags and Roll Top Backpacks (which if you've made those - know it takes quite a bit of time).  Anyway...   been quite busy and there have been far less posts, DIY's, and patterns.  And that makes me sad.  BUT, after this Saturday - returning to all that full force!  And just in time for the little BOOK RELEASE!  Geez Louise... there's a lot going on over here!

How many of you guys have gotten stuck doing outdoor markets in horrible weather?  I have far far far too many times.  In fact, when I was at the Salt Lake Farmer's Market - I swear mother nature would play one big joke on me with absolutely perfect weather all week long until market day... week after week.  It was a downer.  Which is why I'm so crazy excited the forecast for this weekend is 75 AND SUNNY!!! Thanks Colorado! And it reminded me of one of my favorite songs I listen to all the time!  I'll definitely be playing it at my booth this weekend - so if you are in Northern Colorado - come visit!!!  Etsy shop will be closed Saturday - check Ravelry and Craftsy for any pattern needs you may have!

This weeeek...

So this last Saturday, I hit the road again... I might as well officially be dubbed a nomad. I'm spending this week, and next, and maybe a couple more after that in Salt Lake City. My father dear is getting a brand spankin' new knee, and I am the official driver and food fetcher. I might have endless hours of boredom ahead (which I will crochet through...) or be running around like a crazy person... who knows? If blogs are MIA, it's cause I'm fetching coffee for a man getting used to some new hardware. Wish me luck!

And if you're thinking.. "Hey! That roll top backpack in the photo is new!" You're right! It is! I finished it on Friday! And will hopefully be working on the pattern as I chill in the hospital waiting room today! Coming soon!

Home Sweet Home

Hey all!

It has been forever since my last post! Amazing how life can get away from you sometimes! BUT... there is still a lot going on over here at Sans Limites Crochet!

First.... Sans Limites Crochet is on Instagram! I love photo sharing, and am really excited about it! You can follow me for lots of fun crochet photos to come! For now... enjoy these photos below from my road trip home!

Second... I'm unpacking my yarn today and getting ready to get to work! I'm packed full of ideas and have some fun things made already that I can't wait to get onto paper for you to try! (Hello, tapestry crochet duffel bag I love so much!)

Third... fair warning that new work may be coming a bit slowly... Drove into town yesterday to find my home covered in smoke from the High Park Fire and only one week left before the little sis moves away to Boston for SIX WHOLE YEARS to pursue her PhD at Harvard! Needless to say... I've been a bit emotional. It's hard to leave home for a few months and come back to so much change!

Plus there are a couple months of blogs I need to get caught up on! I'm back and blogging, so stay tuned!

Love, Sara

Organize Yourself!

If you follow me on Pinterest, you already know I spend more time on there than I should (but man do I have so so many crochet ideas!). BUT - sometimes you can find things on there that are perfectly logical and absolutely needed!

For the slightly scatter-brained creative types out there - you need this. Found on Pinterest. Pinned from Life's a Journal. I'm so excited to get a reasonable to do list going! Enjoy!
