Hey stitchers! ANYONE near Denver, Colorado needs to make their way on over to the Denver Art Museum and check out the SPUN exhibit. (Going on now through Sept. 22.)
If you are even remotely interested in textiles and fibers, this is the place for you. I went a couple weeks ago and it was amazing. Some of my faves? ...the room with the batik and ikat (WOW) ...the silk scarf hand painted by Isadora Duncan's brother, Raymond (do you think it was one of her brother's scarves that made her meet her end in that car all those years ago???)... and of course the crochet coral reef.
CROCHET CORAL REEF, GUYS! It's a community project, so here is your chance to make something and have it displayed in an ART MUSEUM! Pretty cool.
Make something and send it to ...

Spotlight on Skin Cancer
Hi all! I'm sick on the couch for the 4th day now... bummer dude.
Luckily the Downton Abbey premiere and an email of this video have brightened my day!
Last year, Meredith bought the Power to the Pom Hat in bright orange so it could be used in this video about skin cancer awareness. Definitely a topic important to me since many people in my family have had it. So... stitch happy, get yourself checked, and try to spot the Sans Limites in this video!
Read more from her interview HERE.

(The wood paneling behind Kohl was hand stained by my fellow freakin awesome interns, the hat Kohl is wearing was made by Lucy... my inspiration while I was there - she makes the best hats, I did a lot of quality control checking... and the cycle of change painted on the wall was done by my favorite Aussie -Leah... I helped hold the ladder and tried not to freak out about her falling... I worry... I can't help it...)
So it is time friends! Vote at http://bit.ly/vote4kki.

So crafters unite! Help some amazing women on the other side of the world by helping this organization... #letsdothis !!!!!!!!!!

75 and Sunny
Hi All!
I'm so so very sorry I haven't posted in so so very long! In the last few weeks, I decided a bit last minute to do an outdoor market this weekend- The French Nest, applied and was accepted to Renegade in San Fran (more on all that later), applied for grad school (EEK!), had a garage sale at my house, enjoyed an awesome visit from Rachel from Washington (one of my very best friends), and made a whole stash of large and small Weekender Bags and Roll Top Backpacks (which if you've made those - know it takes quite a bit of time). Anyway... been quite busy and there have been far less posts, DIY's, and patterns. And that makes me sad. BUT, after this Saturday - returning to all that full force! And just in time for the little BOOK RELEASE! Geez Louise... there's a lot going on over here!
How many of you guys have gotten stuck doing outdoor markets in horrible weather? I have far far far too many times. In fact, when I was at the Salt Lake Farmer's Market - I swear mother nature would play one big joke on me with absolutely perfect weather all week long until market day... week after week. It was a downer. Which is why I'm so crazy excited the forecast for this weekend is 75 AND SUNNY!!! Thanks Colorado! And it reminded me of one of my favorite songs I listen to all the time! I'll definitely be playing it at my booth this weekend - so if you are in Northern Colorado - come visit!!! Etsy shop will be closed Saturday - check Ravelry and Craftsy for any pattern needs you may have!

My other life...
For those that don't know... when I'm not stitching, I'm probably dancing. That's what my college degree is in after all. West African dance is what took me to Africa for the first time where I saw poverty and expanded my world view and changed as a person... dance is a spectacular thing... and this is one darn good video... Thanks Callie, for posting!

Stitched Up Shoes
I've been getting really excited about the stitching I see on shoes lately, but had no idea where to begin with making crochet shoes. Here are some pictures that were inspiring me!
Image from DIY Daily.
Image from Lulus.com.
Image from Style Bubble.
But then I found this video tutorial from Corinne's Craft Closet and got really really really excited...so excited I had to keep myself from hopping out of bed and trying to shop for wedge shoes... I'm definitely going to be following this gal with her awesome ideas!
How awesome is Corinne's Craft Closet? Pretty awesome! I'm definitely trying this... I'll let you know how it goes... I might challenge myself and crochet my own doilies... or not... still deciding! YAY!

The X Stitch (my first attempt at a video tutorial)
Note to self:
-next time have someone behind the camera so it's not so blurry.
-get rid of chipped, crappy nail polish.
OH WELL.
There were some problems making the X stitch needed to complete the Kathleen Dress, so here is a short video to help you out! Email me at SansLimitesCrochet@gmail.com with any questions!
